These trios are written to be played by any three woodwinds - parts are provided by key of the instrument:
1. C instruments - flute and oboe
2. Bb instruments - Bb clarinet, Bb bass clarinet, Bb soprano saxophone, and Bb tenor saxophone
3. Eb instruments - Eb clarinet, Eb alto clarinet, Eb alto saxophone, and Eb baritone saxophone
4. Bass Clef Instruments - Bassoon
It is suggested that if mixed instruments are used, part 1,2,3 be assigned according to the highest pitched instrument on part 1 down to the lowest pitched instrument on part 3. Be sure that all three parts are assigned. For practical purposes, possible combinations include:

1. flute, clarinet, bassoon
2. oboe, clarinet, bassoon
3. flute, oboe, bassoon
4. flute, oboe, clarinet
