Edited by Gunther Joppig. Martin completed the Sonata di Chiesa for viola d'amore and organ in November 1938. His own arrangement of the work for transverse flute and organ dates from 1941. This version was written for Martin's wife, maria, who gave its first performance with the organist Charles Faller in Lausanne on June 11th, 1942.
