Reverie & Dance-BSN/PN

Reverie & Dance is based on a five-note set that suggest major key tonality. An introduction leads to the Recerie, a lyrical section with two themes, both derived from the five-note set. A rhythmic Dance in Rondo form follows, developing themes from the Reverie. Asymmetrical and changing meter are used freely throughout the composition. Ron Klimko writes, "The balance between lyricism and rhythmic excitement is very nicely equated in this work, enabling the bassoonist to showcase both the melodic and technical capacity of the instrument."

This piece is a one-movement work that has been recoded by Michael Burns on his CD "Primavera: Music for Bassoon and Piano by Bassoonists." MARK MASTERS 8084-MCD.
