Prelude For Oboe & Piano Right Hand-OB/PN

Written in 2000, Hansell has written a rippling piano line with a dotted thirty-second-note pattern accentuated on every beat. The oboe meanwhile features some longer notes values, but also breaks into dotted rhythm patterns. Towards the end, these become impassioned, the dynamic rises to fortissimo and the oboe reaches a top F. There is contrast and interest within the oboe part and in its setting against the seamless flowing of the piano part.
