The present composition has been conceived in the typical form of the "Concertino", without superabundance of developments and purposely simple in its rhythmical and harmonic structure. It consists of three tempi of which the first, built up on two themes, has been developed in the usual form. The second (Medieval Song) is inspired by the ancient songs of the troubadors and the third, rhythmically brilliant, condensed and impeccable in style, gives to the soloist several passages of effective virtuosity.
