This transcription is from the piece by the same name, “Duett” Opus 2, that was originally written for soprano, basso, and keyboard. Somewhat operatic in style, the musical lines lend themselves well to a musical dialogue between oboe and bassoon. Its charm and simplicity, yet creativity too, lend it well to performances by students, amateurs, and professionals.
