The 22 leichte Duos, op. 126 (22 light/easy duets) were originally for two cellos and arranged for bassoon by Nikolaus Maler. The short pieces, consisting exclusively of eight-bar melodic phrases, invite the player to shape the phrases and to experiment with different tempos and articulations.
