ABOUT THE MUSIC
Children’s Games is a set of six short pieces for oboe and bassoon, each portraying a fun activity for children, since children need to change activities frequently, and need an outlet for their imagination. Movement titles range from Free Play, to Jumping, to Bird Watching, where each bird call is an imitation of an actual bird call you might hear in the Western Colorado area. The suite was written for performance at the 2025 IDRS conference at Butler University, and was premiered by members of the Colorado Mesa University faculty.
