Therefore Let Us Keep the Feast (2000)
A Liturgical Meditation
for contrabassoon and organ
by Carson Cooman (b. 1982)- American composer

Written for and dedicated to Jeanne Coonan (contrabassoonist with the Penfield Symphony Orchestra) and Robert Ferris (organist and choirmaster at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rochester, New York). The work is a contemplative liturgical meditation based on the Tonus peregrines fraction anthem for the Eucharist (Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us. Therefore, let us keep the feast.). The work was originally conceived for a worship service although it would also be usable in a recital setting. Many of the ideas presented in the work are derived from plainchant.
