Duplum (2001)
for oboe and organ
by Zsolt Gardonyi (b. 1946)- Hungarian composer, son of Zoltan Gardonyi

Duplum as title of this composition suggests, plays on the medieval term for a second voice, alluding to the dialogue of two instruments in this six-minute work. The conversation between the organ and oboe takes place in two different movement profiles. The lyrical opening is followed by an upbeat dance-like rondo with motives reminiscent of the composer's earliest years of composition.
