Song of the Deer - Traditional Chippewa Melody

From the composer:

When the tune first came to my attention, it was only a single melody line, unharmonized. There were untranslated Chippewa words and uncertain, ambiguous rhythm values, and no meter indications whatever, as is often the case in early music of the people. I have added bar lines, extended the melodic line somewhat and included a short introduction and interludes between verses, always trying to maintain the original charm and beauty of the piece.
