Trio in F Major, op. 9, #1
for flute, clarinet, and bassoon
by Andre-Frederic Eler (1764-1821) - French composer
I. Allegro moderato
II. Larghetto
III. Rondo: Allegretto

Andre-Frederic Eler was one of the group of capable French composers around the time of the Revolution, a time of renewed activity that laid the foundations for Romanticism. Through his chamber music for wind instruments, Eler played a part in the development of instrumental playing and technique. His melodies often bring to mind the music of Haydn, Mozart, and Gluck, his harmony is very correct, and his counterpoint stands out from that of many of his contemporaries.

The original publication of this work was around 1802-1803.
