ABOUT THE MUSIC
Cat and Bird, for flute, bassoon, piano, and percussion, imagines two pets which go from confrontation (Kerfuffle) to uneasy truce (Détente), then boredom (“Mom, there’s nothing to do!”), and finally to resolution, or perhaps just resignation (Happy Now?)...until next time.
Performed at the She Scores concert series in Cleveland, Ohio in 2023, and described as "colorful and charming" by Cleveland Classical, this work is partly atonal, based on a twelve-tone row which was created by a random method.
