Three Pieces Blue was written in 2001, originally for flute and piano, and was revised in 2004 for bassoon and piano. Paul writes: I have named these pieces after the color "blue" as they are of a calming and chilled-out nature. Blue has a soft stabilizing tone about it which soothes and caresses.
