28 Etudes in the Mode of Transposition d'Olivier Messiaen-BSN

Composer: Lacour, Guy

Publisher: Billaudot (France)

Edition: GB6090

28 Etudes dur les modes a transpositions limitees d'Olivier Messiaen
28 Etudes in the Mode of Transposition
for bassoon
by Guy Lacour (1932-2013)- French composer and saxophonist

Originally written for saxophone, these 28 Studies in the mode of limited transposition, that Olivier Messiaen was particularly fond if, have been remarkably adapted for the bassoon by Jean-Marie Lamothe. As each study is based on one of the seven modes, or one of their different transpositions, we advise preliminary study of the scales that are formed by the constitutive notes of each mode, in order to reduce the difficulties of assimilation that may arise from this unfamiliar language.
