Six Trios for Woods (Score & Parts)-FL/CL/BSN

Composer: Bacon, Ernst

Publisher: Prairie Dawg Press (Bruce Gbur)

Edition: PDP307

Six Trios for Woods
for flute, clarinet, and bassoon
by Ernst Bacon (1898-1990)- American composer, pianist, and conductor
1. Frog in the Well
2. The Vagrant
3. At the Gold Diggings
4. Petticoat Slide
5. Love in the Hills
6. The Gillygaloo
Edited by Bruce Gbur. In addition to the descriptive titles, Bacon gave most of the movement subtitles, usually referring to some compositional aspect of the piece. One title which bears explanation is that of the final piece. In the folklore of the pacific Northwest, the Gillygaloo is a bird that lays square eggs, often used as dice by lumberjacks.
