Re:Pair (score & parts) - CL/BSN

Much of Re:Pair was inspired by the meters and modality of early music, and I had fun breaking some moldy rules against parallel motion in the recurring theme of bouncy fifths. The duo begins tranquil and paired and gradually journeys towards moments of isolation, urgency and bitonal conflict before once again pairing up and ending sweetly. Between the gentle bookends of the beginning and end of the piece the music strives to repair the musical syntax of lines that occasionally break down harmonically and rhythmically.
