Although the melodies and harmonies of this piece are entirely original and refer to no distinct source, the composer emphasizes musical aspects generally thought of as 'folk-like.' The two most distinct and clearest emphases are on sweet melody, streaming ahead without undue pressure or distortion; and zesty pulse, dancing past continuously in a lively, extrovert manner. The music is scored for flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. The set includes both a full score and individual parts.
