Baron Piquant's Pas de Trois

This is one of a series of dances based on characters drawn from voodoo lore. The baron is one of four spirits in charge of the intersection between the living and dead. Despite this grim association, the baron has a lighter side as well. He is a notorious trickster with a marked fondness for brandy and tobacco. The atmosphere is a bit sinister, mordant, and menacing. The Tuba/Euphonium part comes in a both bass and treble clef versions, and is also playable by another bassoon. The harpsichord part may be played by piano.
