This work begins with the opening of Act IV and the oboe's presentation of Leonora's aria D'More sull'ali rosee, including the cadenza that closes the aria. Te piano alone presents Che! Non m'inganna quel fioco lume?, then plays the melody of Manrico's Di quella pira, which is elaborated by the oboe. Next comes Azucena's arias, Si, la stanchezza mi opprime and Ai nostri monti, with the piano offering Manrico's interpolated Riposa o madre. The work ends with the trio Di geloso amor sprezzato and a coda. This new edition was prepared by Michele Fiala.
