Duo Chisco Op 164
for flute and oboe
by Michael Kibbe (b. 1945)- American composer This duet was composed for oboist Francisco Castillo in April 2007, and was premiered on a church series in Glendale, California in 2009. The flutist was Jamie Pedrini. I like the delicate interplay between these two treble instruments, and have tried to score equal activity for each of the voices. The first movement is very energetic, the second more thoughtful and mysterious, and the finale is again quite lively.
